Certificates and other documents relating to J.H. Woollam and his service with the Great Western Railway, British Railways Ambulance Centre and the Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire Joint Fire Brigade.

John H. Woollam (1902-1984) was raised at Maesbury Marsh, Oswestry. By 1939 he was livng at Glanynys, Borth. He was the signalman at Borth from 1926. He appears to have started his career with the GWR in 1916.

St John Ambulance, Great Western Railway Centre, first aid certificate awarded to J.H. Woollam, following a course held at Machynlleth.
17 March 1924

Certificate issued by the Great Western Railway centre of the St John Ambulance Association to John H. Woollam for rendering exceptionally efficient first aid at Maesbury Marsh on 17 May 1936.

Certificate presented by British Railways Board, London Midland Region Ambulance Centre, to J.H. Woollam on retirement from the Railway Service in recognition of 40 years active membership of the Ambulance Centre.

1. Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire Joint Fire Brigade Certificate of Service awarded to John Henry Woollam for loyal and faithful service from 3 September 1950 to 19 May 1960.
2. Covering letter dated 26 September 1960.

Letter to Woollam's mother at Maesbury returning doctor's note and testimonials because JHW's identity cannot be properly proved as his full name is missing from the enclosures, and requesting amendments.

Letter advising Signalman Woollam that he has obtained a merit pass in his signalling examination with a score of 435 out of 500.
