NATURE AND CONTENT: Records relating to the Welsh-language Chapel, Queen Street (later St. Paul, Great Darkgate Street), Aberystwyth.
ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: The Chapel was built in 1807 on Queen Street and rebuilt in 1842, then a new chapel was erected in 1880 in Great Darkgate Street. In 1992 it was closed and the building was later converted into a wine bar. The congregation moved to Canolfan Fethodistaidd St. Paul Methodist Centre. The Chapel lay within Cylchdaith Aberystwyth 1807-1994, then Cylchdaith Ceredigion Circuit from 1994. Source: Madden (2009).

NATURE AND CONTENT: Records relating to the English-language Wesley Chapel, Queen’s Road, Aberystwyth town and parish.
ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: English-language Wesleyan Methodist worship in Aberystwyth began in 1844. The congregation was recognized in 1865 and was known as Aberystwyth Home Mission until 1879. The Chapel was built in 1869 and closed in 1989. It was later demolished and in 1992 Canolfan Fethodistaidd was erected on the same site, which served both the English and Welsh congregations in Aberystwyth. The Chapel lay within Aberystwyth Circuit. Source: Madden (2009).

It later became an Arminian Presbyterian congregation before becoming Wesleyan Methodist in 1863 when it was attached to Cylchdaith Llanbedr Pont Steffan. Source: Madden (2009). ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: The congregation first met in 1808, and the first Chapel (called Capel Salem) was built in 1823. Its replacement, Capel Ebeneser, was built in 1840. The Chapel lay within Cylchdaith Ystumtuen 1861-1971, Cylchdaith Aberystwyth 1971-1994, and Cylchdaith Ceredigion Circuit thereafter. Source: Madden (2009).

NATURE AND CONTENT: Conveyances relating to the Welsh-language Chapel, Capel Ficer (also Capel Vicar), Llanarth parish.
ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: The congregation started in 1806. The Chapel was built in 1810 and rebuilt in 1849. It is still open today. The Chapel has fallen within numerous Circuits since its inception. It was within Cylchdaith Llanbedr Pont Steffan 1808-1811, within Cylchdaith Aberteifi 1811-1813, within Cylchdaith Llanbedr Pont Steffan 1813-1814, within Cylchdaith Aberystwyth 1814-1820, within Cylchdaith Aberteifi 1820-1850, and within Cylchdaith Llanbedr Pont Steffan ac Aberteifi 1850-1864. It was probably within Cylchdaith Aberaeron 1864-1907. It was within Cylchdaith Llanbedr Pont Steffan 1907-1971, and within Cylchdaith Aberystwyth 1971-1994.
