ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: Welsh-language Circuit, founded 1808. Between its inception and 1864 the Circuit underwent considerable flux, changing names several times and briefly merging with Cylchdaith Aberystwyth 1814-1820. Between 1864 and 1971 its name remained Cylchdaith Llanbedr Point Steffan. 1971 it was merged into Cylchdaith Aberystwyth. Source: Madden (2009).

ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: Bilingual Circuit formed by merging the English- and Welsh-language Aberystwyth Circuits in 1994. Source: Madden (2009). According to notes in WMA/4/2/5/1, Stephen Wigley, Superintendent Minister, streamlined Circuit administration in 1998. The Home Mission Committee, Overseas Mission Committee and Social Responsibility Committee were abolished and their two replacements - the Church in the World Committee and Church Life Circuit Committee - were intended to handle all matters outside the core functions of administration, property and finance.
