Scope and content: D.R. Davies Collection.

Collection of writings about rural Cardiganshire, in Welsh and English, with accompanying letter accepting the collection into the Museum, from where it was transferred to Ceredigion Archives.

The collection is somewhat disorganised because (as another accompanying note says) 'on an unfortunate occasion all the sheets-loose-fell on the floor. I have tried to sort them out but some are still not sorted'. None of the sheets is numbered, some have headings such as 'Shani Bob Man', 'Y Fuwch', 'Old Memories', 'Fond Memories', 'The Small Farm', 'Colled yr Iaith' and 'The Hay Harvest'. There is also a notebook detailing the outcome of the sale at Cilwenau Isaf in Llanarth in February 1929 (cover detached).

Mr Davies appeared to live in Kent by the time he sent on the rest of the collection in 1990 and was 'ninety plus plus'.
