Scope and content: Liberal Party ephemera from the 1923 General Election.

The national campaign was dominated by the issue of Free Trade v Protection, which is well represented in these documents, but the local campaign was more between Evans and the 'unofficial' Liberal candidate, Rhys Hopkin Morris, who eventually won the seat - see esp. J. Graham Jones, "The 'Coaly Libs' and the 'Wee-Frees': Cardiganshire Politics, 1920-1924 Part 2" in Ceredigion Vol. XVII No. 4 (2016).

1. Leaflet: Vote for Ernest Evans, the Liberal candidate. With photograph of Evans in the centre, flanked by quotes from and photographs of Asquith, Lloyd George, Sir J. Simon, and Winston Churchill.

2. Leaflet (bilingual) encouraging voters to vote for Ernest Evans, the Liberal Candidate / Yr Ymgeisydd Rhyddfrydol on 6 December 1923. Also standing were Lord Lisburne and Rhys Hopkin Morris.

3. The Cardigan Elector - free paper promoting the Liberal Party and Ernest Evans, its candidate for the Cardiganshire seat.
