Scope and content: Various items, some with a Talybont connection.

Accounting notebook with marbled cover, 'Stock-taking at Talybont June 16 1881. The stock sold by the Executors of the late Mr James Davies'. The stock appears to be that of a drapers or outfitters. Household goods, including foodstuffs, may also have been stock. The total was £177-6-1¾ and was signed off by Thomas Ashton.

Qualifications, Testimonials, References, Etc. of Thomas Henry Kemp, Talybont. Five printed sheets including title or cover sheet: qualifications; training and experience; references; testimonials. Thomas Henry was born 6 January 1843, matriculated from London University in 1879 and at the time of writing was headmaster at Talybont British Mixed School.

Methodist Diary and Pocket Book belonging to John Jones, Pencae Villa, Taliesin. This John Jones appears in the 1911 Wales Census Summary Book, but not in the census itself. He mentions Lil, possibly his wife, and children, who do not live at home. The diary is detailed and clearly written, mentioning household events such as washing and cleaning and the delivery of coal and manure. It opens with an account of deaths and funerals throughout the year, noting attendance and use of hearse. There is frequent mention of Club and Parish Council meetings, the results of elections are noted, as is the death and burial of Edward VII, as well as local news. Jones has bee 'skips', at least one field, sometimes let for grazing, sells his hay and cuts hurdles in the woods, rolling the bundles down. He also rents out 'Oak Cottage'. The diary ends with a gardening summary listing plantings.
