Scrapbook with blue covers, front has ‘War Pictures’ in gold, with coloured drawing on British soldier, wearing cap rather than helmet. Front endpaper inscribed ‘J. Edith Davies, November 17th 1915’.
Contains newspaper cuttings 1914 - 1918, chapel memorial notices, cutting concerning ‘Irish Swoop’, a failed entrant in the 1934 MacRobertson England-Australia air race. The subjects of the cuttings include general war stories, for example the Hartlepool and Scarborough bombardments and the naval attack on the Dardanelles, but most are concerned with people from or having connections with, the Lampeter area (generally with their deaths). Included loose is programme for a memorial service for Nurse Ella Richards at Soar, Llanbedr, who died of pneumonia in Salonika in 1918.
