Scope and Content:

Bound scrapbook (originally an account ledger), lacking covers, containing cuttings in English and Welsh (predominantly the latter) mostly of local (West Wales) interest, including history. Cuttings are from a variety of newspapers, including: Western Gazette; Y Tyst; Y Faner; Western Mail; Y Cymro; Welsh Gazette. Main body of material, not arranged chronologically, ranges in date from 1940 to 1971, with 1940 the most common year. Later section includes cuttings from up to 1983, as well as ‘Neath and district antiquities’ from the Mid Glamorgan Herald, that appeared in 1926-7. Index at front.
Loose insert: letter in Welsh, dated 1940, typed on reverse of correspondence on stationery of ‘The Vincent Evans Testimonial Fund’, dated 1899.
