Title: Papers and Publications on the History of Orllwyn Teifi
Date(s): c. Late 19th Century - 2011
Level: Fonds
Extent: 6 boxes

Creator: The collection was accumulated by Reggie Evans and much of the material consists of his research notes. However there is little indication of the creator of some of the material such as photographs and copies from books etc.

Biographical history: Reggie Evans was born in Penrhiwllan and was a maths teacher for thirty-four years in Llandysul. He retired in 1994 when he formed the Orllwyn Teifi history class. The class ended in 2000 and he intended to publish the information he had gathered in the form of a book, however this was not possible so he published pictures and documents with captions in the publication called Detholiad O Luniau Plwyf Orllwyn Teifi [A Selection of Photographs on the Parish of Orllwyn Teifi] Ceredigion. Reggie Evans died on 15 January 2011.

Scope and Content: Research notes relating to the parish of Orllwyn Teifi [c.1990-2011], publications on the parish of Orwllyn Teifi [c.1994-2007], photographs on the parish of Orllwyn Teifi [c. Early 20th â€" 2011], papers relating to Bronwydd Estate and the Lloyd Family covering 19th century to late 20th century [c. 1990-2011], school and church records of the parish Orllwyn Teifi covering 1737-2011 [c. 1990-2011], architect plans for St David’s Church Bangor Teifi 1930, tithe maps for Llanfairorllwyn, Henllan and Bangor Teifi 1841-1941.

Appraisal: After sorting through the collection duplicates have been disposed of and a postage tube which once held the architects plans for St. David’s Church Bangor Teifi was no longer required and so was disposed of.

Accruals: No accruals are expected

Condition:s Governing Access: No restrictions for most of the material however some school records are closed for 100 years from the date of last entry.

Condition:s governing reproduction: Usual copyright regulations apply.

Language: Welsh and English

Finding Aids: An electronic copy of the catalogue is available on the Ceredigion Record Office website.

Rules or Conventions: This description follows ANW guidelines based on ISAD(G) second edition.
